Information (POPI) Disclaimer
We being The Benefit Counsellor (Pty) Ltd (“Company”)
who owns the digital platform called Benefit Counsellor (“BC”), wish to advise
and confirm that by accessing or using BC, you acknowledge that you have read
this POPI disclaimer wherein you understand and agree that all information
provided, whether personal or otherwise, may be used and processed by the owner
of BC and such use may include placing such information in the public domain.
Further, by continuing to access BC you
specifically agree that the Company will use such information provided by you,
irrespective of the nature of such information. However, the Company will
use its best endeavours and take all reasonable precautions to protect your
personal information and will further ensure that any information provided is
used only for the purposes intended. For the purpose of this disclaimer
“personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access
to Information Act No. 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) and the Protection of Personal
Information Act No. 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
According to these statutes “personal information”
refers to information that identifies or relates specifically to you, for
example, your name, age, gender, identity number and your email address.
The Company collects, stores and uses your information via the BC digital
platform primarily for the following purposes:

To communicate requested information to the user;

To provide services to the user as requested by the
user;

To authenticate the user;
·
To provide the user with access to specific
information relating specifically to the user and restricted only to the user;
and
·
To compile non-personal statistical information
such as browsing habits or click patterns.

Please note that by submitting information on the BC digital platform, you consent to the collection, collation, processing, and storing of such information and the use and disclosure of such information in accordance with POPIA and the Company’s approved Privacy Policy.
Furthermore, any information supplied to the Company on
the BC digital platform will be treated as confidential and the Company
will not disclose information unless legally permitted to do so. No
information will be transferred to a third party without your explicit consent
unless legally obliged thereto. You should also be aware that
whenever you use the BC digital platform, complete an application form, contact
us electronically or use one of the services or facilities offered by us, we
will collect your personal information. The information we maintain
concerning our users is stored in databases that have built-in safeguards to
ensure its privacy and confidentiality.
